【VMC Vets Tips | Prepare Your Pet for a Stress-free Vet Visit】

A vet visit may be challenging for you and your furry friends. How to get prepared to make it less stressful? Here are some tips:

Get prepared for physical examination: Dogs and cats who have their mouths, ears, tummy, chest areas, and feet touched and examined regularly are more likely to remain calm during an exam.

Make the carrier more familiar: Set the carrier less scary by familiarising your pet with it at home. You can put the carrier near the sleeping area for your pet to hang out or spend time in it in everyday environments, not just for vet visits. You can also bring some of your pet’s favourite toys and a blanket in the carrier. Spraying some calming pheromone in the carrier can make your cat feel comfortable as well.

Practice wearing a muzzle: If your dog is aggressive, train to wear a muzzle at home by placing treats in the muzzle from time to time, so that your dog will be less reluctant when you need to place it during the visit.

You may discuss with your vet before visit and record your pet's conditions, for details please read: https://bit.ly/42iSjJ5
